Prago Union are a hip-hop duo from Czech Republic established around 2002 in Prague.
The group consists of two members:
Kato aka Deph (MC, born 1979)
Skupla (DJ)
Both Kato and Skupla are former members of Chaozz, a well-known hip-hop band that helped pioneer the genre in Czech Republic in the mid-90’s. After Chaozz disbanded in 2002, Deph and Skupla went on to become Prago Union.
In 2005, Prago released their debut album named HDP (Hrubý Domácí Produkt - Gross Domestic Product). It features guest appearances from Masta Ace, Planet Asia, Kutmasta Kurt and Dendemann (from Germany’s “Eins Zwo”) as well as fellow Czech rappers Phat and De Zrechts. The album was well received by both critics and fans and is widely regarded as one of the best albums to have come out of the Czech hip-hop scene.
Prago Union have been working on a new album since around 2007. The album title is rumored to be Dezorient Expres. No firm release date has been confirmed, but Deph has stated that he would like to release the album sometime in 2009. During some of their recent live shows, Prago have debuted a new song named Dezorient Expres.
